My 1914 has one missing fender bracket and the others have carriage bolts instead of rivets attaching them to the fenders. Are the brackets available and should they be attached with oval head rivets instead of the bolts? How are the rivets installed without denting the fender? Thanks, Art

Model year 1914 used either 4 rivet or - later - 3 rivet fender brackets. Which are yours ? Some will say install round head rivets cold and some will say hot. Either way, use a rivet bucking bar (Google it) will help with not denting the fender.

Restoration Supply sells threaded rivets, makes life a little easier!

Langs lists the rivets as oval head. Restoration Supply lists those threaded rivets in round and truss head. Are the "oval" head rivets the same as a truss head? What size should the head be? Thanks, Art

Photo is a '12 front fender and rivets to bracket appear to be a low round type, measure about 15/32" in dia.

The Truss head in Restoration Supply wouldn't seem appropriate, may have a pointed crown.

The rivets supplied by Lang's for their brackets are likely correct. Their correct bucking bar for the rivet head will keep the head looking factory when riveting the shank underside on the bracket.
