I just saw this on Steve's Facebook page.

Last night we were notified by Steve's doctor that they were transferring him to Northwestern Hospital for evaluation. He had acquired a fever and an infection was suspected. He was unsteady, words slurred and not communicating very well. So, he was admitted to the hospital, seemed to be having difficulty breathing, and scan showed that one of the areas of bleeding in his brain had expanded and didn't seem to be reabsorbing as expected. He is now intubated and the decision is being made on whether to do brain surgery or not to relieve the pressure. Fingers crossed that the outcome is good.

Please tell me I am having a bad dream. Thoughts and Prayers Steve!

Minor setbacks on this sort of recovery are very common, almost unavoidable.
Hopefully, that is all it turns out to be, just a minor setback.

×2 I know it is common for brain injured patients to go in and out with recovery. Let's just hope that it is only temporary. It should be noted that I am not any sort of professional just reiterating some of the things I've heard.
Don't push too hard steve! Give yourself time to recover we are all thinking of you.

Some folks missed this thread and so they were caught unaware of Steve's situation. I am bumping this thread to the top so that they have a better understanding of what transpired several days ago. Steve is currently at Chicago's Northwestern Hospital which is ranked one of the best in the country. He is in good hands.
