If you have a large item for sale and you get an email
Gerg.willsoo@gmail.com from John Walter it is a scam. The check he sent me was for $6300.17 for a $4800.00 head. The check was signed by Oprah Winfrey.
Don’t understand some people.

It's probably a good check, Oprah has a lot of money!

I hope that head was attached to an early engine.
Thanks for the warning.

Nick has the Roof 16 valve overhead in the classifieds. Beautiful head that looks to be worth every penny! Sorry they are trolling you Nick, but glad you had your guard up!

Wow. Same old scam from years ago. Extra $ so you can pay the pick up man out of your own pocket. You lose the $ and the part. Luckily they're either still morons or just have no imagination at all. Opra indeed.

Oprah has a HUGE yacht. It runs on pure Unicorn flatus and it's perfectly "green"!

You should RSVP the scamer & say the check cleared
P.S.
Once a check is cleared, the payer can't reverse it and get their money back. However, if they can prove to the bank that the check was fraudulent or a case of identity theft, they can potentially get their money returned to their account. But then Oprah would be involved

Definitely do not tell anyone that the "check has cleared"! Doing so could make you liable for not shipping the item in a timely manner. Or IF someone showed up to pick it up and you didn't provide the head and the extra cash.
They wouldn't be worried because it isn't their real account anyway. So why could they be out anything.

The check Fed Ex'd to me from John was for $27,000.00 for a $25,000.00 car. It was from the Eastern Bank. I was suspect right from the start, so I took it to my bank and they wouldn't even deposit it.
