What makes Whippet radiator shells so popular for Model T's? Do people use the Whippet radiator also, or just the shell? Is it just that the Whippet shell just happens to fit a T radiator very well?

Most all use the shell and the radiator together

My long time, now retired radiator guy made new tanks with Model T inlet & outlets for my Racer using the Whippet radiator - turned out pretty nice if I say so myself !

As you can see, The whippet shell gives a classic 20's look to a racer.
I am amazed how many turn up.

It seems there were more shells and radiators for Whippets than there were Whippets!

It was a fairly common swap to a speedster or dry-lakes racer in the late-20s and early-30s.
It gave the car a more streamlined look of the fancy European racers of the day, on a American-car used-parts budget.

Theres a stack of whippet parts cars for sale in eugene oregon. They are buried in brush and are in very rough shape but theres at least one good radiator (thats the only one i could see)

The cars have to be purchased whole, the situation is dire and they face scrapping. Youll have to extract them, wheels probably dont turn, wood rotten.

send me an email if anyone is interested and I can forward contact info for the seller.
