Hi, I got this lamp basin with an e&j taillamp, it doesn’t fit it and doesn’t seem like any of the basins I’ve seen before. It’s got a threaded hole for a burner, does anyone k ow what it is?

The problem is, that prior to 1915, there were literally hundreds of models of lamps manufactured by literally dozens of companies over more than ten years. Ford in the model T era alone (1909 through 1914 model years) must have had nearly thirty different variants of sidelamps plus their matching tail lamps!
Quite a few years ago, at a major swap meet, there was a fellow that restored and dealt with early lamps. He had a huge display of lamps for sale, laid out by car make and years. He had about seven different sets of sidelamps for Ford for 1914 alone! I enjoyed talking with him for a few minutes about all that variations of oil lamps for cars. But only spoke with him for a few minutes as he was so busy dealing with people buying lamps.
He must have had more than a hundred pairs of side lamps for sale there, and likely not more than a few duplicate pairs in the lot!

There used to be a lot of people in the hobby that dealt in oil lamps as a side hobby business. Usually the best thing to do with odd unmatched pieces was to give them to one of the dealers one knew well enough to buy from. That way the part had a fair change of being mated up to a lamp needing it. And one might get a few dollars knocked off a future purchase. That was what I did with some pieces I got in a box of stuff I bought a long time ago.
Unfortunately, there aren't many of those dealers left anymore.
