'24 Coupe cowl vent spring?

Guy's,
Where is the cowl return spring supposed to be mounted? I have a broken spring hanging from the vent itself but I am either missing whatever it fastens to under the dash or I'm just not spotting the mounting point. What should I be looking for?
Thanks.
Steve

Sorry I can't get a better picture of my '25 Tudor which should be the same. I copied the original. The two springs are held with round head screws that go into the bottom of the wooden dashboard. There are holes in the metal dash cover to allow this. I will look for some better detail.

A second attempt resulted in a better photo. I think you can see the round head screws better here.

Rich,
Thank you! That is what I needed to see. The bad news is I now see I'm missing some stuff- some rather important stuff.
I only have one broken spring, no screws at the bottom of the dash and I have no notched support bracket! I can add that to the list of missing interior parts. Unfortunately, a previous owner or restorer removed interior items and they never found their way back onto the car or into the boxes of miscellaneous items I received with it.
Anyway, at least I now know how it's supposed to look and operate. Before your photo, I was envisioning an over-center spring set up- like the air diverter on a walk-behind leaf blower, or a motorcycle kick stand.
Thanks again for the photos.
Steve

I don’t have any springs on my cowl vent but added a slit piece of black tubing to the lower lip so when closed there is no rattle or rubbing of paint. Could not hold the tubing straight so it sits a tiny bit crooked but no one will notice…

I have the same vent door on my 25 and it only has one spring. I’m pretty sure, based on other 25’s I’ve seen that it is correct or at least others use the same setup! Works well!
