The suppliers sell radiator hose kits. However, I've heard a lot of people say that the hoses in those kits are barely long enough, at best. I've looked at buying bulk straight hose, 2" and 1.75" diameter. Most options are 36" long, and would cost anywhere from $50 - $80 for the pair. I've noticed in my search however, that there are some molded hoses that have long straight sections in them for maybe $10 each. Problem is, those formed hoses do not state what the inside diameter is. They're sold by P/N only. So, the question... does anyone have part numbers for such formed hoses, from which sections can be cut to use on the T? I know, I know... how cheap can I possibly be?

Unless things have changed the last set I bought which yes was a few years ago were fine. I just wish we could buy what we need rather than a full set. I have bunches of hoses I didn't need.

Restoration Supply sells a wide range sizes of cloth wrapped radiator hose by the foot. I recall they have both red and black available.

Thanks Dan. Much appreciated. I saw that. They get $26.00/foot. I ended up looking at the Summit Racing site. They are a bit more descriptive about some of their formed hoses. I ended up buying one of the same P/N on eBay for $15. That will get me plenty of the 1.75" hose.

I recently had the short radiator hose problem on one of my T's and eventually solved it. In the process I looked in the Snyder catalog. Snyder also carries Model A parts and it looked like Model A red radiator hose sets are the same ID as for T's, but the top hose is longer. Maybe give them a call.

If you have a farm machinery dealership/workshop nearby, they should be able to cut what you need from workshop supplies. Drive over in your T and you may even score a donation.

The stock T with a stock head and radiator with the stock inlet at the side of the engine should be easy to find at any of the usual suppliers. However, if you are adding a water pump or possibly a low head on a high radiator, the lengths might different. So if your car is stock, just specify the year and model and they should have what you are looking for. Normally, the lower hose has a pipe between the block and the radiator with a short hose at each end. If yours is different, post some pictures of what you have so we can give a more intelligent answer.

I didn't say that the stock hose kit, sold by suppliers, didn't fit my car. I was going simply by the comments of others, who have stated that the hoses in these kits are on the short side. In my case, I have a water pump. However, the pump is such that the original style pipe is still used.

1,75 inch is a bit pricey

Why not just order Model A hose & cut if need be?
Model T size Upper hose is 2"i.d. x 4" length. Lower hose is two, each 1 3/4"i.d. x 2 3/4" length.
Model A size Upper hose is 2"i.d. x 7-1/4" length. Lower hose is two, each 1 3/4"i.d. x 3-1/2" length.

Thanks Frank. I wasn't aware of the Model A hose dimensions. Looks like the way to go!

I recently installed new hoses on my 26 and 24 with what Langs carries for T's and did not find them too short or even a little short.

FYI - if you have a brass car, the upper hose is shorter than the black model so one needs to cut it to length - the kit's upper hose will be too long !

No problem if the hose has to be shortened. but if the kit comes with hose too short, that would be a problem.

The outlet hose in the kits is normally too long.

Cut it to the factory spec of 2 3/4" length.

That way the end of the hose is well away from the spark rod as it clears just the metal outlet pipe. Too long a hose there can interfere with the spark control.

I buy hose from NAPA. My local store will cut what I need from The 3 foot pieces in 1 foot increments.

It was a while ago, but I bought a set of hoses and the correct clamps from Lang's. They fit perfectly.

I'm coming to the conclusion that the "too short" thing is something of a myth.

Maybe too long morphed into too short. Because as Dan pointed out, the lower hoses are too long.
