I wonder what that black area above the kid's eye is? Looks like some kind of shadow. Maybe a flash picture? and that might be the bat? At first I thought he was wearing glasses, but it is above his eyes and only on the right and too wide to be ear pieces. I guess we will never know? Those are good pictures.

Norm that might be a flash on his hair. Just a shiny spot.

The second photo is a very interesting 1915 or 1916 model T touring car. Clearly a USA production car, one can clearly see no driver's side door hinges in the light colored or gray repaint. I mention it being a USA production car because so many Canadian model Ts sent to Australia and New Zealand were painted light colors. But it was very unusual to paint them this way in the American countries.
The car has also been updated with an after-market hood, and maybe a radiator or radiator shell. It also has an after-market radiator cap, it looks like one I had on one of my cars a few years ago.
