I picked up this puller, which is missing the stand and handle/punch. Could anyone with a good one measure exact dimensions of the punch so that I get it right? Thank you.

I've been collecting Stevens tools for 30 + years - never have had the pleasure of finding the Stevens stand - I have a copy of the Allen holder. I have the puller & will measure my handle for you.

Thanks! It doesn’t look like there is a handle/punch in the one in the box either! Out of curiosity, what tool has the Hassler arm been turned into?

The handle's in the top tray - I turned the Hassler arm into a peining jig for the gear pin.

Mine measures 0.310 in diameter - 4.50" in length - knurling is 1/2" wide & 2" from either end.

Thanks, that’s interesting. The one in the catalog has a punch for the gear pin built in. Maybe they figured out this was a clumsy setup, or maybe yours lost its original too. My handle hole is 5/16”. There is a square dent like some locknuts have, presumably to create an interference fit for the punch.

Here’s the only one I found online, and it appears to have the reduced-diameter punch part broken off at right.

When I picked up mine, it was also missing the punch. Had I seen this ad first, I would have better understood that it did not need a handle. A post with a picture and some dimensions would be great if anyone has the punch. J

I did not notice the "punch" end in the catalog illustration - I'll look mine over again but ?

Certainly.

The overall length is 5.525 inches.

The major diameter is .328 and is about 4.440 inches long.

The minor diameter is .162 and about 1.112 inches long.

The lengths of the major and minor diameters do not quite add up to 5.525 inches because of the transition from the minor to major diameters.

Respectfully Submitted,

TrentB
