That perfect stocking stuffer......... yes, it's early Ford related
I was looking for a book at Barnes and Noble for an old car friend who "has everything" regarding old car paraphernalia. I thought, "he has Carl Pates book on early Fords, as well as several others, I'll just see if theres a good coffee table book" at the store. As I was browsing with Julie in the "books with big pictures" section, I saw this:
I jokingly said "watch, it'll have a Model K inside."
What happened next surprised even me:
The very first car featured was, wait a minute, yes, a beautiful 1907 Ford Model K Runabout. I believe it's the K at Fairbanks, Alaska. In fact, I believe it's the only full feature (two page, the "money shot") car among the many pictured. These two pages of photos followed:
With that said, the description launches into the old "dogma" about the K being a "bad car" and the transmission not being adequate, etc. etc. However............... it's in the bag, ready to be gifted (unless I decide to keep it for myself....).
Merry Christmas,
Rob

She wrapped her right hand around the crank with the thumb opposite the fingers and when it kicked, she lost her arm! Then the car lunged and took off her nose! Not so beautiful anymore.

Rob, I think the model K is 1 of the better looking Fords built in that era, they are just so rare, so expensive all I can do is look thru the window and wish . Come to think of it,that's a_________ never mind,

Rob, you had me laughing when I read you and Julie were in the "books with big pictures" section.
It's time to go back to B&N.
I think I'd like that section.
I like the K also. It might buck ya once in awhile but it won't argue and say you're wrong.
Mack, that was classic!

Since I lost my mind mind, I feel more liberated

Yea, it wasn't long after she was posted here the first time I printed a copy and framed it and hung it up on the wall near the wood stove. Carmen Electra hangs on the other side of the shop, life size standup nailed up on the wall.Duey_C wrote: ↑Sun Dec 10, 2023 7:43 pmRob, you had me laughing when I read you and Julie were in the "books with big pictures" section. It's time to go back to B&N.
