Brake rods

Post by Art Ebeling » Sat May 25, 2019 6:58 am

The brake rods that came with my 1911 project are straight, but the ones in the suppliers catalogs have a couple of bends in them. What should the brake rods look like? Here is a picture of mine and the ones in a Langs catalog. Art

Straighten yours so they look right, up and over the radius rods. The early ones are hard to find.

'26-'27 rods were straight. Be sure you haven't got a pair of those.

Royce has a great summary of 1911 car features on his site. You have to be a member of the site to see it. :)
