I use bar chain oil. It sticks better.

Anything that lubricates can get the job done, I use maple syrup because I like the smell.

Any motor oil, it takes on a rebuilt front axle assembly overnight to lubricate the spindle bushings top and bottom. You should see oil spots under the spindle bolts or the lubricant isn’t lubricating the bottom bushing.

 Good one!
I use any motor oil which usually means 0 or 5w something, which really runs thru fast. I bet the bar oil works good tho.

I concur with the majority: chain saw bar oil.

I have 2 chain saws I use here on the place and the bar and chain oil is the best oil to use. It doesn’t take a lot and the stickiness and weight helps it stay in place.

Ii have been using chainsaw oil for about 3 years. I didn't know anyone else who uses it until now. I apply oil every 100 miles as recommended in literature.

I agree with the majority view and use bar oil on all of them . . . EXCEPT on the spindle oilers. If the bushings are new/tight, I use regular engine oil (10-30). If they are worn, then they get bar oil too.

I often use Amsoil Synthetic R&O, AW gear and bearing oil ISO-680 (RPC). It is thick but flows well. I bought it to use in my Warford and use it in T rear ends as well as my '23 White trans and rear end. I like it but also use Pennz 10-30 sometimes.

I have found gear oil to work well, I have even saved it when I change the rear end oil.( if it's clear of metal flakes) the most important
thing is to oil them as most don't seem to do it very often! Don't forget all the other lube points. For some reason I'm always short of bar oil.
Merry Christmas all.
Craig.
