Has anyone use the "ball bearing fan hub cartridge" that Lang's offers?

I get tired of the grease splatters on the engine and on the inside of the hood.
Does the fan still use the skinny front bushing, or is the other bushing simply omitted?

If you have used one, let me know if you like it or not.

My dad put a lubless on my car. after several years it finally died.
I went over to a bearing place near me in L.A. and was fixed up with a replacement bearing very reasonably.
Heated it in the oven to expand and the old bearing dropped out and was replaced.
That's my experience with it. I don't know where my dad got it from or what vendor but most are made similarly .

I haven't used that "cartridge," but I've used several of their repop pulleys with the sealed bearings in them. I like them a lot. "Set it and forget it" is correct.

I modified the rear bushing in my fan hub to accept an o ring.I also sealed the gasket with permatex gear oil sealant. No more oil spatters on the inside of my hood and the fan is still more or less stock. I use the same oil I use in my Ruckstell.

Don't do it Keith. If you must, rebush the fan.
