Hi all,
I'm working on the interior of my 27 Tudor and I need the size of the flat head slotted screw that holds the window decorative moldings to the body. They look to be about 1/4 inch screws and are about 1/2 inch long. My threads are all chewed up and/or missing. Does anybody know the size of these small screws? They are a fine pitch, but I need the size. Thanks.

Not sure of the size, but I'm pretty sure they were oval head slotted, not flat. Others will know better. I sorely miss slotted head screws.

If my '26 Fordor is any indication and similar, yes they're slightly oval headed and mine are the nicest looking chrome screws you ever saw!

Sorry, they're definitely not the nice chrome oval headed screws that show. These hold the metal piece around the rear side windows to the body. The same screws are used to hold the large sheet metal piece (which holds the window crank in place) on to the sides.

So then these are like under the otherwise nice trim with the nice chrome screws that I see in mine? Later if I get my lazy butt out to the cold barn I'll look and maybe even send a pic?

If they are not seen, you could use more readily available Phillips head screws. Her in Oz, if they have a flat top, we describe such screws as countersunk, and your oval heads as raised countersunk.

14 X 24 Treads Per Inch were used in several places and are only about .003 smaller than 1/4th inch, so they might be used there.

I am 99% certain there are no 14-24 bolts/machine screws used in this interior trim application.
