I have notice a lot of people posting pictures of their Speedster builds and the like there of, Big Kudos! Sending me "Progress Reports" too.
But one thing I have always pushed and my Father did with me, MAKE IT SAFE FOR EVERYONE ON THE ROAD! Some of you have called me direct, and I have reach out in assisting and others think I am an over cautious old man crazy as a loon.
Bending steering components by means of a torch, cutting center links and ferruling them with welding, and etc. is not safe. Hollow tubes are meant to push and pull only in straight lines. Bending by any means a hollow tube in the geometry of the motor vehicle only promotes the component to fail. The split in the bottom of the center link and wish bone has a purpose (flex with energy absorption). This old car is on the structural principles of "trinity". I know we need to have our therapy, There is so much free information out there in cyber land and books to be read. I just hate to see good people with great intentions get hurt when a little homework pays off.
I have said my peace, enough said. I only say this because I give a SH#T!
