2024 MTFCI Polar Bear Tour - Well 3/4 of it anyway haha

For those of you who weren't aware, MTFCI hosted a Polar Bear Tour on January 19-21, 2024 in conjunction with their membership meet in Dayton Ohio. The tour was hosted by BJ and Casey Miller of
https://ronsmachineshop.com/Home.html and the NOKEN T's club. Well as a member of the NOKEN T's, my wife and I were blessed to participate in this polar bear tour with our awesome club and I can't tell you how fun it was!
We have officially thawed out and I put together a video about the trip, check it out and let me know what you think!

The Cincinnati area received close to 3" of snow the night before the tour. On the morning the tour started, the roads were too dangerous for my wife and I to join because the starting location was an hour from us. We had to wait it out and left our house at about noon. All the other brave Model Ter's left on time, bright and early at 9am, in the snow and slush! I was so jealous, but thankfully my wife talked me into staying home and keeping our Model T safe from other drivers on the road. Because of that we missed the start and the lunch stop. After lunch, tour participants visited the American Packard Museum in Dayton. And that is where my wife and I caught them!
With lows of 4 degrees Fahrenheit and highs of 25 degrees Fahrenheit, the weekend was cold and so much fun! Even without side curtains on our car

The weekend ended with 150 trouble free miles for my wife and I. And yes, the salt and slush is now washed off our Hazel.

That was a great video, Jarrod; thanks for creating and sharing it. Your Hazel is a great looking car.
Even though it's Feb. 2, I want to offer New Years thanks to all of the MTFCA video content creators. Donnie's camping videos, Scott's covid drives in his coupe and all the other camera operators who think to do it and then bother to set up a camera so we can ride along vicariously AND to all the garage maestros who make repair and even swap meet videos.
Not all of us are able to get out to see and do the activities we once did. Your little windows outside mean a lot. Thank you.

Very well said Dan!
We took so many more pictures than videos because of the cold weather for this polar bear trip. Editing videos into something fun and easy to watch is more fun than making these slideshows with video sprinkled in them that I put together. But I like being able to tell the story of my Model T and her adventures.
To all the video creators, I think they are paying a HUGE service to our hobby. We are trying to reach new members by new mediums everyday. Be that on forums like this one, National Club/Regional Club/Specialty Model T Clubs on Facebook and Instagram, or YouTube. Any new content created is just one step closer to drawing someone new into the hobby. Or even re-energizing someone to dust off their old T sitting in their garage for new adventures.
And it is not lost on me that I am posting about a MTFCI event on the MTFCA forum. That to me is a huge deal. The comradery between these two national clubs really shows, and the fact that we can post about Model T events and functions within each club is just another reason to love owning a Model T. Now who is ready for the Richmond Homecoming!

I couldn’t get the above link to open, but was able to find it easily by searching on YouTube directly.

Coming from Michigan, we stayed at the meeting hotel in Miamisbutg Thursday evening. Trailering down to Shandon early Friday morning in the still-falling snow was more of an adventure than the tour itself.

But, in the end it was worth it!

Miles,
I fixed the link in the original post, so thanks for letting me know about that! I see you also went without side curtains

.
I'm so glad you all came down and went on the tour, the weather only made it that much better! Hope you all made it home safe and sound!
