Are there any vendors that sell new axle gears? I see new axles at the vendors, but not the gears that attach to them.

No need- there are plenty of good original gears out there. A good majority of trashed or worn axles have good gears on them.

There even some NOS gears if you know where to look. 😀

The new axle shafts are 1.063”. Originals are 1.062”. The original gears can have variations in their inside diameter. Some are worn oversize and some are undersize enough to be too tight of a press fit on a new axle shaft. To do a good job of fitting a good used gear to a new axle shaft, you really have to measure the gear inside diameters all over with a dial bore gauge & pick a gear that has a good .0015” to .0020” press fit. You also need to have a good quality press that is large enough to press a gear off and on.
