I know better than to try and start work on my 24 Coupe without asking how first so how do i go about taking off the windshields? I would think i should take them to the glass company with the frame on. So how do i get them off?

The lower windshield, shown left, has several screws holding the frame to the body. The upper has screws holding the upper part of the hinge to the header. Other than the swing arms, this is all that hold the windshield frames in place.
The glass company has some good tricks to remove and reinstall them. If you learn those tricks, you could do it yourself. If you have the original, brass setting channel, they may be able to re-use it. Care must be taken there.
Good luck.
