One of out T club members is a locomotive driver instructor. In the railways if ever a tiedowm is even slightly damaged, in any way, it is discarded. He saved a heap of them a while back, and I scored a good few to use with my T trailer and around the farm.
Here is what I made for use when tying down a T on my open trailer. The one on the right is modified to tie down the front of the T. The short strap was unbolted from the ratchet. The hook loops were cut out of the sewn in eye on the long strap. That eye was then used to bolt the strap onto the ratchet. I cut the damaged strap to the length I needed so there was not a heap of unwanted strap to deal with. Two short ones for the front and two longer ones for ths rear. Allan from down under.
