Storing spare coils
Question. How should I store my spare wooden coils. Should they be upright or can I lay them their sides? Thanks, bobt

Re: Storing spare coils
Would your coils in question be what you have in your stock, or are they freshly rebuilt?... It really doesn't matter where you store your old purchased coils, but your newly rebuilt and calibrated coils should stand upright in old boxes with enough height to have a solid lid placed on top of the box to protect them. Any physical pressure on coil points will change electrical values and performance. In the past I have come across rebuilt and calibrated coils from a private source that ships them wrapped in cardboard with extra protection on top so that the coil does not shift due to clumsy handling from delivery service, either USPS , UPS, or any other mailing service.
