Wood Roof Kit - 1927 Tudor

I have purchased a wood roof kit for our 1927 Tudor but have come up with some questions before being able to move ahead with the assembly and installation.

Do I treat the raw wood to preserve it?

Is there any preparation needed on the steel body parts where the wood is to sit?

What fasteners do I use to put it together and also to hold it down to the steel body?

Is there a bedding / sealant material that should be used between the wood and the body metal?

Seemed like a simple process but I don't want to get it wrong by missing critical steps.

Many thanks for any thoughts,

Joe

Thank you for this link, Dan. It's a great start on ending my confusion and, hopefully, getting the roof on right.
