Hi all
Can someone confirm when the kerosene side lamps were eliminated in the Touring cars. Was it 23, 24, 25? Early or late if you know? Thanks
John

They were not eliminated thru 27.
They came on all mag only, non starter/generator cars.
Since most late T's were electric, original sidelight mounting brackets(2 year only) are pretty scarse.

Well I DID try to post basically the same comment, but just as another poster earlier who was befuddled about having his post "disappear" so did mine right now, for the same reason I explained to him...I just got BOUNCED by the guy ahead of me! This happens 50% of the time I swear!!

In other words a 25 electric start car would NOT have kerosene side lights, right?

Nope. Unless someone put them on for decoration like on my former '20 Runabout with a starter

I would assume that an owner could have them added as an accessory. But as standard equipment, I do not believe so.

Side lamps were discontinued on cars that were equipped with electric starter and generator.
Interesting side note: on 1915 cars and later, the side curtains had an attachment strap that went around the side lamp. When the side lamps were discontinued on electric cars, Ford had to find another way to attach the side curtains to the windshield. Hench, the side curtain clips beginning on 1920 open cars.
