Hello,
Is there a measurement or does anybody have side by side photos of transmission end plates? I know the 26/27 sits down inside the drum ID and is not interchangeable with the earlier ones, but I'll be darned if I can find how to tell the difference just looking at a loose one sitting on the shelf.

Hi Jeff
Turn it over look at the bottom side where the bolts go through to attach it to the drum. The 26-27 will be completely smooth and the pre 26 will have the lip that fits on the groove on the edge of the narrow brake drum.

A 26-7 style is flat @ the base.(where the 6 bolts mount to the drum)
The earlier style has a raised edge/lip. The OD is larger, the same as the drum face

Here is a good picture of the earlier style with the lip (in the 2013 forum)

Here are a couple of links to the later style, you can see how the driven plate fits into the wider brake drum.

Last year at Luray there was a sample of the new reproduction Driven Plate that someone was working on making. Looked great, hope to see more this year. Dan
