Dash light wiring question

Hi All,
I have a 27 Tudor and I want to put the original little dash light back in. What do I connect the central wire to? It would be a positive point, as the negative/ground would be through the attachment on the dash itself. Thanks.
John

Tap that dash light wire to the BAT terminal on the back of the switch.

Thank you Robert. That helps. I can now actually see which pedal my feet are on at night.

Place the dash lamp terminal to one of the ammeter terminals.
Check which one so that when the dash lamp is lit, the ammeter will show discharge.
Good reminder that the dim 3 watt dash lamp is on, when you shut off the ignition, makes you turn it off to keep from draining the battery.

Since you only need the light when it is dark, why not attach it to the light system and have it go on only when the lights are on. Our dash light does not have a separate switch to turn it on or off, so it goes off when the lights go off.
That may be an easier connection method.

Nick ... The dash light would have to be wired to the tail light terminal in back of the switch. Tail light is active whether you're using dim or bright headlights .

Steve at Lang's suggested connect to either side of ammeter, so I did that. Works fine, and can go on anytime, regardless of headlights
