Those connectors really do look pretty slick, however, I'm wondering that if that low-temperature solder joint only requires the heat of a heat gun to melt to make the joint, what happens if a circuit with such a joint becomes overloaded to the point where the wire (and joint) begins to get hot enough to melt the solder but not hot enough to blow a fuse. Do you suppose that's possible? If so, I'm wondering if that could be a problem?

Been using these for years at the shop. I like them. The manager got some cheap ones once and the solder wouldn’t melt till after the shrink shrunk. 😂. If the wires get hot enough to re-melt the solder you have bigger problems.

Scott - I realize that if a wire gets hot, you have a problem. But lets face it,....it happens! And now, maybe ya' got two problems,....maybe the wire got hot enough to melt the joint before the fuse blew! So,....the circuit that was supposed to be protected by the fuse failed anyway! Don't get me wrong,.....those connectors do seem like a pretty neat product, but I guess I'll wait awhile and see how they work out for other folks,.....harold

these things look awful gimmicky to me.i have a roll of rosin-core solder and a soldering iron both of which are many years old... i use them and shrink tubing from horrible freight and never have any trouble.just my 2 cent's worth.

I always respect other opinions. :)

Scott,

I respect you an apologize if I missed the message.

I had a troubleshooting issue with those before and drove me nuts, cold solder joint. It could have been the cheap ones, who knows. As you said, to each their own, again sorry and accept my apology.

All the Best,

Hank

No need for apology. No hurt feelings. We're good. :D
