When finishing out/fastening the seat side panels, do you chamfer down the tack strip to meet the body panel armrest plane? Then slide the extra material over the tack strip and between the metal armrest side?

Where is the end cap? You failed to mention the year!

Yes, taper the tack strip, original wood tack strip was also tapered. Used that plastic strip on my '27 touring and did the same like factory, taper the edge down. The Improved open cars didn't use an end cap. Just finish off with Hidem Welt and a end trim nickel fastener.

Then fold under the leading edge of the upholstery about 3/8" to 1/2" to align with the metal edge of the body.




This install was without a top at the time, otherwise the Hidem is over the top cover edge.
Original runabout wood is tapered.

Rob. Quick question on the material in the pictures on your original post. I need to redo the front bottom on my 15 Touring, and that material is what I'm looking for. What is the material called (I know it is vinyl, but is there a name for the texture) and where did you obtain it? I have looked into a number of the T suppliers and find nothing. Thanks much.
