One of those frustrating/aggravating jobs on a Model T...

...for me, at least, is adjusting the third generator brush.

The part that gives me fits is trying to tighten the nut without knocking the brush out of adjustment.

The insulator has seen "better days" ! If it wasn't so warped, one only needs to loosen that nut very little to move the brush.

Which way is which?. Toward you reduces amp? and away increases? About half the time I get it wrong and have to redo the adjustment./

That's why I buy T's made before generators! Eliminated a lot of my headaches :D

Amperage increases with rotation - C.W. which is towards engine - decreases when shifted away or towards you.
