A friend of mine very often picks his daughter up from school with his T Coupe. His daughter mentioned one day that one of her classmates asked her why her dad picks her up with a tractor.

Looks like THAT school needs a Model T lesson!

We gave one to a private faith based school a few years ago and the kids loved it.

Every year our club presents a lesson to at least one school. Our president is a retired teacher so knows the staff at the schools. We present a story about the development of the Ford cars and then the kids come out to the parking lot and look at the cars. Each one gets to honk the horn once. A few years ago the kids even got to ride around the parking lot in a T but haven't driven them for at least 10 years. Last year the presentation was just before Halloween, so I had the skeleton of the "original owner" in my car.

My family has a 25 touring and I had the joy of getting picked up from school a couple of times a few years ago. One kid just looked at it one day and said, "is that a tractor?"
How, may i ask, does a touring car look anything like a tractor?...
And we're all worried about having the correct hardware and parts...

This also suggests the issue of kids not knowing what a tractor looks like

Our chapter does the exact same thing. They need to get to my friend's daughter's school!

Here in Port Elizabeth, South Africa I do the rounds at various primary schools at this time of the year. The grade 4 pupils have transport as a topic as part of their social awareness syllabus where they also learn about Henry and his fabulous T without ever having seen one. I do a 30 minute pitch on the subject and it always gives me a great kick to see how the kids react when they set eyes on the real thing.....and a lucky few get a ride!
