Dave Hjortnaes has done it. Others have too. How many are leaving the trailer at home and driving to Dearborn?

Jarrod,
I wish I could join you, but cannot. Toledo would be a good place to meet. Are you planing one or two days of traveling. My guess is you have about 225 miles. I would have about 115 miles. I wish you safe traveling.

Good for you Jarrod. If you need a route, just put your phone on bicycle and you will get to see all the small towns on the way. Safer than trying to negotiate highways.

Art, 225 is a stretch for one day, at least the way I drive, but 115 should be a cake walk.

One caveat using google bike routes ---- sometimes they put you on actual bike trails....no cars allowed

Exactly, I had looked at doing that for Cincinnati to Dearborn, and it puts you on a bike trail for a large portion of the time. I can go through and pull the route back to a "car road"... that will just take some time.
Avoiding highways using Google (no research or adjusting ) - 279ish miles
Looking at the Lincoln Highway Associations online map
https://www.lincolnhighwayassoc.org/map/ Gives me an idea of where it used to be.
I could get pretty close to driving my 101 year old car on the old Lincoln Highway, which just sounds so cool! I would pick up Lincoln in Lima, OH and then go west before coming back east. But that changes the route to 409ish miles.
I am not sure I would have enough time or PTO

When they put you on bike trails you just have to look a little closer for the tricycles. They squash too easy.
If they put you on a bike trail, turn the phone off, drive 10-15 miles in the direction you are going, and turn it on again. You might come across something very interesting. It is all part of the adventure. Remember 100 years ago you were suppose to turn right at the yellow house. Too bad they repainted it green the year before.
Jarrod, if the bike trail is to the west of Dayton just drive on the east of Dayton. Catch the Lincoln Highway in Lima and head east. Then you can stop in Toledo to get a hot dog at Tony Packo's cafe that Klinger says are the best in the world and get a view of the stadium for the Toledo Mud Hens. Well worth getting off the trail.
I drove from Milwaukee to Louisville, to Detroit with a stop in Toledo. Beautiful town along the river.

I've been catching US 12 at Coldwater. From there to Detroit some of it is OK, and some of it is pretty sorry.
