and I needed a windscreen wiper. I had bought a replacement blade some time ago but it hardly had the right patina.

I managed to dig the old rubber out and open up the original channel a bit. The new blade almost fitted.

By spacing it with a bit of welding wire, the stainless backing remained masked but the rubber was exposed.

These pincers from my collection of box jointed pliers made ideal crimpers to hold the lot in place.

You really can't tell it has been played with, and it works well.

Hope you approve. Allan from down under.

Most definatly Allan. Anybody can bolt on a new shiny part. Functional and looks the part. I love it. Its all in the details!

Got my approval. Not that you need it, but you did ask.
All kidding aside, I think that looks excellent!

I like it :) ... While working on the speedster project and trying to save all the patina, it became obvious that its "easier" to restore something with sandblasting and paint than it is to rebuild it and save the patina ... good job on the rebuild ...
