Technical Director
Duties and Responsibilities
Vintage Ford
• With assistance from and under the direction of the Executive Director, provide technical expertise to assure that each issue of the Vintage Ford is properly laid out, ready for publication by the set deadlines, and conveyed to the printer in the appropriate format. This entails:
o proofreading and correcting (when necessary) articles that are submitted;
o seeking articles to assure the publication is full of pertinent information and relatable articles;
o adding design elements to enhance the appeal of the magazine pages;
o forwarding the completed pages to selected proofreaders no later than the 15th of the month prior to publication; and
o assuring corrections are made before submitting the finished product to the printer no later than the 25th of the month prior to publication.
Social Media
• Give oversight to the annual social media/marketing calendar; and
• With input from the Executive Director and Museum Director, produce posts and ads that bring the MTFCA and Museum events, exhibits, and collection to the forefront of viewers’ minds.
Website
• With input from staff, keep all information on the website up-to-date; and
• Monitor key indicators of use by the public, offering suggestions to increase traffic to the site.
Technical Services
• Provide IT services as needed to keep equipment running properly and software up-to-date and functioning in accordance with best practices;
• Assure the telephone system informational messages and routing options are up-to-date and appropriate; and
• Provide other IT duties as are needed to ensure the MTFCA and Museum run effectively and safely.
Staff Support
• Become familiar with the workings of the MTFCA and Model T Museum in order to be a productive member of staff when called on to assist during normal business hours, during staff shortages, and, in some cases, special events that will require working hours outside the normal scope as previously presented.
Part-time, averaging 20 hour per week. Pay starting at $18/hour
