Yes, push out via the tripple gear side. Install the new pins from the magnet side.

Now is the time to install a starter ring gear flywheel weather you add a starter now or not.

John you couldn’t be more right, even though you may not need it now adding a starter when you’re ready will be as simple(ha) as replacing the hogshead though it sounds like you’re at the right point to put a starter hogshead in. You can put block off plates where the starter holes are now.

Important to understand that the pins have a very small shoulder on the engine side of the flywheel meant to keep the "press-fit" pins from working out into the transmission side of the flywheel. This "shoulder" is very slight, basically enough to barely hook a fingernail onto, and sometimes people looking at the pins (new ones or removed old ones) don't even realize it is there. So always look for it to be sure things go the right way.

Flywheels are cast, and the casting can sometimes break. So when pressing or driving the old pins out, be sure to support the flywheel casting close to the pin with a short piece of pipe or old wrench socket, both removing the old pins and installing the new pins.

For best health (stubbornness) reasons, I recommend cranking the T for starting as long s it is healthy to do so. However, once health (heart, back or other joints and/or muscles) becomes a significant issue, use a starter! For an earlier T, install a flywheel with a good ring gear any time it is practical to do so.

Are you working on the 1923 touring car?

Put in bolts in the magnet bolt holes next to the pin holes to prevent cracking from tight pins from the pin hole to the bolt hole.
4 bolts total.

Got it covered. This is the 1923 "modern" car. Hogshead, starter, generator.and all that stuff. But it will be interesting to see if I can still hand start a car. I haven't done that since last September 7.

It's still with Dallas in Indiana. I hope it won't be long before I clear the tractor parts off my trailer and go fetch the carcass.

Wouldn't the cast iron flywheel expand at a greater rate than the steel pins when heated? Heating the flywheel evenly to about 180F to 200F, then pressing in the pins, might be a good idea.

Steve one more suggestion if you have the ability to do it, Polish the pins, they look nice when you get them but they have not been truly fine polished. I haven’t put new pin in for about a year but I have done several over the past couple of years. If your fingers aren’t all calloused up you can feel how rough the are. Try using your finger nail you’ll feel what I’m talking about. Whom ever produces the pins recently may have started fine polishing them but I don’t know that with any certainty. Best John

If you don’t POLISH them you will be back in the same situation again.
Also, the pins from vendors don’t have the shoulder on back side the keep pin from coming through into the transmission.
I have not seen it but have heard on it happening.
Only one guy makes them like they should be made and you don’t have to polish his.

Do your self a favor and use the new style with the needle bearings.

Steve I don’t think his last name is TOO, it’s something else perhaps a surname with a Scottish origin.

I did not post his name cause I don’t have permission to do that. I do say he makes the best bronze timing gear also.

I would strongly suggest ordering the pins from the guy with the Scottish name, as others have suggested. The pins from the vendors have a terrible surface finish and are too big and will crack your flywheel.

If you say his name out loud three times while looking through your vibrating side view mirror, he will appear and add Marvious Mistry Oil in both you crank case and fuel tank and install a waterpump for free!
