What is the correct strap and hook for a 1915 open car? I see parts suppliers have cotton web straps for 1915. Is that correct or should it be leather? Also, what is the correct buckle/hook. The buckle style hook seems to be used with leather while the other style seems like they would work better with cotton web straps. Anyone have photos of their correct 1915 top to windsheild straps?
Thanks in advance.

Re: Correct 1915 top to windshield strap?
A common mistake is that many folks assumed that when Ford began using webbing for the last top bow to body strap that Ford also used that webbing for the front top to windshield hinge strap. Not so. That front strap stayed leather into 1917 at which time the front strap DID change then to the webbing style. You have shown the 2 correct strap hooks but the belt buckle leather strap type was used for 2 more years before it was changed to the web material strap. My son has a rather original 1916 roadster and it has leather on the front strap and web strap for the rear strap. I have the drawing for that strap.

Dang! About the time I think I have something right, along comes John with the Ford drawings.
The inevitable often happens.

Thanks John,
So if I understand you correctly it should be a leather strap with the belt buckle style hook? Did you by chance have a photo of your son's original 1916 strap?
Thanks,
Chris
