I hadn't paid much attention to that name, so I had to look him up. Great stuff!
I hadn't remembered "Little Iodine" for decades.

Newspaper comic strips of the 1920s through about 1960 are wonderful, and so are the animated cartoon shorts from the 1920s thru about 1950.
American political cartoons from around 1810 onward are also worth a look.

Besides “Little Iodine”, Hatlo’s staple was a single frame cartoon (like “Out Our Way” and “Our Boardinghouse”) he called “They’ll Do It Every Time”. He solicited ideas for the feature from his readership, hence Pat’s reference to “a tip of the Hatlo hat to . . . “

Growing up in the 60's, everytime we went camping my mom would buy a stack of various comic books in an effort to create some quiet time for her 4 wild injun boys....
I remember Lil Iodine being one selection.

Not just a TV, I have more computing power within my reach right now than NASA had to send people to the Moon... I have 2 way radio, a weather station, an AM FM (and Digital, whatever that is! --lol--) radio, a computer, a walkie talkie, health monitor, and the ability to talk around the world - for free - etc. on my wrist! Make reservations to fly in an airplane at 550 MPH from the center of Europe to the west coast of the USA in all of 14 hours (including a stop in London), a hotel room on that end, and rent a 4 wheeled contrivance to travel at breathtaking racecourse speeds or better.

THAT, to me, from someone who thought getting a letter from overseas in 2 1/2 weeks (air mail!!) was unbelievable, is just amazing! Cars that have SEVERAL onboard computers that run relays to control all aspects of our cars (even ignition timing!). Wow!

Speaking of - returning to an one-per-cylinder impulse fired ignition coil? Gee, where have we heard THAT before?? (What's old isn't only new, it's better than anything that happened between the 2)
