Door Opening Screws

Have found a couple of screws located at the bottom rear of both door openings on our 1927 Tudor.
No idea what purpose they had - does anyone have an idea what they were doing there?

Are they for an aluminum kick plate? Our Centerdoor has aluminum threshold kick plates. Just a thought.

That could be the kick plate screws as the other post stated. Unscrew one of the screws and see if there are any remains under it. By now it won’t be much.

Thanks for the thoughts, fellows. This hobby sure has endless mysteries and discoveries.
A kick plate is excellent thinking but there is only one screw in each doorway. No more are present along the bottom.
There is sort of a kick plate in each doorway - the imprint might be seen towards the center of the opening. This plate is nickel plated and held in place with 4 screws.
There is a space under each of the screws like something it held has deteriorated leaving the matching gaps on each side.
These corner screws are challenging me so I'll have to keep an eye out for 26-27 Tudor and discover what is being held down in each corner.
Maybe the bottom of windlace just came to mind.

I had the same screws on my 1927 coupe as shown in the two photos. You can see the remains of the material that it held which was a vertical strip along the door opening. I will take a pic of the new strip I installed the next time I am at the garage.

Those are the mystery critters - same screws in identical locations.
There was no material remaining on mine but they were proud of the surface so I figured that something has rotted away so probably holding some kind of material.

They are there to hold down the end of the windlace .... at least I think that's what I'm looking at.
You have solved one of the mysteries haunting this old car. Only 11.6 million more to go and I'll be on the road.
