Will be there row CG-74-77, with misc T parts and other interesting things. Including a bunch of timer rollers (steel and brass), some crankcase repair brackets (Apco and Hudson), and some non-T, but super cool NOS replacement ruby red glass tail light lenses for various models. Also might have some outboard motors. See you all there!

Since the friend we share Hershey spaces with is not coming this year due to the recent flooding in our area, we are able to bring a trailer with a lot of stuff that wouldn't fit in my pickup. Bringing a 1913 T rebuilt short block with all covers and low head, 3 running board boxes, a '13-'14 T rebuilt rear end, a '26-'27 T rear end, lots of A stuff. Space number is CI 8-10. Come visit, I'd like to say 'Hi'. Wish folks would wear name badges.

The MTFCA tent is in C4Q 34 to 39. Don’t forget Tuesday at 3 o’clock, we have our forum gathering. Hope to see a lot of you there.

How much are the tolls now from Chicago to Hershey?

The weather looks great for next week, looking forward to seeing everyone at Hershey! Safe Travels.

We’ll have a good mix of Model T and other early stuff. We’ve restocked our $1, $5, $10, $20 and “priced and marked” tables as seen in Chickasha. Our spaces are behind the old stadium at RSE 25-27. There are a bunch of other vendors back there too with good, early parts.

How much are the tolls now from Chicago to Hershey?

As a devout cheapskate, I religiously avoid those roads.

You did the math right but there is a better route to avoid the PA tolls & just 13minutes longer via I-80. Saves $73.80 round trip

I've been taking I-80 to Bellefonte, south on I-99 to State College, and US 322 to Hershey. Apparently that's a few extra miles, but that's OK. It's pretty country.

I've been going to Hershey for 37 years, and haven't missed one. This year with back problems, and a lame foot, I'm staying in California. I'm going to miss it. Besides, the T stuff is drying up. Last year I didn't spend over $50.

I know it’s drying up in chocolate south. I know of 2 vendors not going to be there.
Heard of one guy that has had 7 spaces for something like 25 years not renewing his spaces. I was told he got 7 spaces for next years Luray.
If you have been to Luray you need to go.

My 1st year at Hershey was '63. I've done a lot of walking in all those years. I won't be going there anymore. I found that the Luray swap meet is more enjoyable, with more T parts available in a concentrated area. With the addition of the tour after the meet, it makes the trip more than worth it.

Man, I don't know what service to the hobby some folks are doing by continuing to dump on Hershey. Some older guys aren't going to be there but at the same time, I've read posts where either are bringing a bunch of stuff they got from buying out some old T collections. I've got these spaces already marked down in my notebook so I hit them first! I don't think anyone would argue HERSHEY is what is was in the 1980s and 1990s... however, being smaller today that what it was at its height (i.e. at its height it had more than the 10,000+ fleamarket spaces, 2,000+ car corral spaces and 2,000 show cars at the show), HERSHEY is still one of the best and biggest shows around.

To each their own. To the non-pessimists out there, don't let folks talk you out of going to what is still one of the best swap meets in the north east! I'll be setting up our spots tomorrow and can not wait to see the rest of you there!

Yeah 10,000 spaces and half of them have plastic toys and Barbies and cell phone cases.
Will I be coming back to Hershey, probably. But not with 34 fool trailer of parts. I going to Luray. Closer, friendlier, CHEAPER and no Barbies.

I’m packed and leaving tomorrow for my first trip to Hershey. Had to pivot at the last minute as my daughter/son-in-law has covid so changed to camping at a state park. They moved this spring fairly close to Hershey, at least compared to Michigan. Many things don’t seem to be what they used to be, but unless invent time travel and how to live forever what can you do?

When is the best time to plant a tree? 30 years ago. When is the second-best time? Now

Don’t really need anything specific, but pretty sure I’ll find some stuff I believe that I can’t live without. More than anything I need availability/determination to work on projects I have already started. My T 26 Touring ) drives fair to poor, but have resisted starting improvements until finishing some other long suffering projects but that’s a subject for a another day.

Looking forward to a great time and good weather, meeting friends I haven’t met yet and putting names and faces together.

I went to Hershey today. Saw a lot of yard sale stuff: Toys, beds, bubble gum machines, a washing machine, push button telephones, lots of things not on the official selling list.

I guess it’s too large to police and they don’t want to risk peeing people off and have the event get smaller.

A LOT of vendor empty spaces and some vendors were leaving today.

Years ago Canton here in Texas was the place to go to find old guns, some old car parts and various barn find and things and parts. Now it’s about half knock off clothes, purses and toys according to some folks who been there just a few years ago. I guess it’s a trend.

What i like about our Bendigo Swap meet is the effort they go to to keep the sites car/tool/ supplies related. We still get some odd sites, but they don't get a second year. The whole venue is crammed. and there is a waiting list for sites, so they can be discerning in deciding if a site is car related.

Sometimes it pays to stay small rather than chase growth.

Yes, there will be lots of 'other stuff' and sites with nothing to do with old cars. In fact, the meet is billed as "The Largest Garage Sale In the Southern Hemisphere"

Is it bad? Not really, the junk does not swamp the car stuff and it attracts huge local crowds if the weather is good. It is the single biggest fund raising event for the Vintage Car Club and that is good for me.

I am looking forward to the great atmosphere and interesting things to ferret out (and maybe buy.... if Mrs W isn't near by )

The Orange Field seemed to have more spaces available this year.

About 8:10 a.m. on Monday, someone's Dodge Motor home went up in heavy black smoke.

It was certainly not a good day for him.

Three of the four spaces around him had not been filled yet and the one guy close only had his tail lights do a melt down, which will probably not be a cheap repair.

Based on my observations, it is best not to take anything for sale that is over 50 cents and don't expect to sell it for any more than 25 cents!

Some guys (mostly young) gravitate to Facebook for their Model T reading. Many of them ignore other sites and miss a lot. Some guys (mostly old) actively avoid FB groups because the higher baloney content makes them think nobody there knows his stuff. I find that this forum, and YouTube, and the FB groups, and Mitch, and even Royce have something to offer. Variety is the spice of web surfing.

I thought Hershey was great. I didn't get much stuff, but I didn't really need anything, so I'm happy. I managed to sell a few items that needed to be gone so that was a plus as well. I had great fun with a Unity spot light that I had been trying to sell, or even give away, for 2 years now. Granted, it was no prize. I eventually hung it on the side of a trash barrel and had great fun watching a guy pick it up and put it back 3 times over. Each time looking it over as if he some great amount of money was involved. He ended up leaving it there. The nearby vendor walked over, snatched it up, and put it on his table to sell. I look forward to visiting it next year .

Yes, there were some areas that were slim on vendors, yet other fields seemed to have a good amount of sellers. Bottom line, there was still tons of stuff to see, lots of very cool items, and lots of great people. I loved it.

This was the first time I missed Hershey in years. I hope next year I'll be up for three days of walking.

Those of us manning the MTFCA tent had a wonderful time. Not only did we meet a bunch of forum personalities at our get together on Tuesday, but we also met members from around the world. We had guests from Germany, Great Britain, Canada, Chile, Sweden, France and of course the USA show up for a chat. It was great seeing all of you
