What year did Ford stop using the forged end carburetor rods? I know they had them through 1914?, but how late after that?

Larry
MTFCI Judging Guideline 7th Ed. has Code # 384, Carb Adjusting Rod noted as having the welded end for 1915 model year.
Earlier were forged ends.
And the design changed to plain bent and flatten end eliminating the knob during the 1916 model year.

Pictures would be helpful here, I’m unsure which “carburetor adjusting rods” we’re talking about - the steering column rods, or the under-hood carburetor throttle pull rod ?

I'm assuming the mixture rod.

Duh !! Thanks, Steve, I didn’t even think of the forked mixture rod. Still, it would be great to see pictures of the different types, for us shut-ins to see !

Here is the early style, forged fork, brass knob, later into 1916 has welded end fork.
Later adj rods all steel looped handle and welded fork. These pics show originals and reproductions, some repro have loop too large to slip into the metal dash slot, rather useless.

I don't think a picture would do much good. The weld is difficult to see, where the forged end is welded to the mixture rod. I would really like to see how Ford did this?

Not all the forged ends had the number on the forged end. Some do, some don't.

Not all the forged ends had the number on the forged end. Some do, some don't. As you can see in Dan's post, the weld is not visible.

This is the rod that came with the Ghost, welded at the fork. Signs of wear, but not sure if it's original or an older repro.

The most recent post is on a 1915. The fork is welded on whereas the earlier one posted have the forged ends welded on about 1 3/4" up from the top of the fork. I noticed Ford supplied these rods in 1925 still, and says they fit 1909-25.
