I'm looking at upholstery kits from Classtique, Snyders, and Langs. They are all in the same general price range ($450-$520). Input from any of y'all who have used these would be greatly appreciated. I the Classtique kit worth the extra $70?

i used classtiques kit for my 24 touring i was very happy with it. i used their top as well.

I absolutely agree with Philip. I have two cars with Classtique's upholstery and tops. Mike the owner, uses original patterns for his kits. Give him a call or go to his website.

At the risk of being too redundant..I also agree with Phillip and Daniel. You want Classtique. I have their products
on my '13 and they are fantastic. Finally got to meet Mike at Homecoming last week. Great guy. A skinny great guy at that!!

And, if by any chance you can swing the extra cost and work out a schedule with Elizabeth, I highly recommend having her at least do the seat backs. Mike can ship you the seat bottoms all done on your springs too. Worth every penny. Just sayin'.

I have driven my ‘23 so much that the original upholstery is starting to fall apart. Also. The car came to me with the top in shreds. So sadly I will need to bite the bullet and install new upholstery and the top.

Now I’ve been reading the descriptions by the various companies that make the kits and one thing confuses me. They all say the buttons are covered like the originals. My seats seem to have metal buttons that are uncovered. And other seat upholstery I’ve seen that is original are the same.

I believe the extra money Classtique charges is for the pre made kick panels and door panels ready to install. I don't think the other upholstery suppliers come with those

The buttons are not covered. You mentioned your car has the original upholstery. Just look at them.

Yes, that’s kinda the point. My sense was that the original buttons were not covered in my ‘23 runabout. And yet the “authentic” upholstery kits come with upholstery cloth covered buttons. Do you think I should gather up all the buttons, refinish them and ask they use them instead to be as original as possible?

If you are going to throw away the original upholstery, then, the original upholstery buttons are worth saving. To my knowledge, on open cars, Ford never used covered buttons.

In regard to the buttons, the Classtique kits that I have for 1924-25 cars both have black buttons that are not covered with material. Perhaps the other kit builders use covered buttons, but Mike does not for the mid twenties open cars.

I believe Mike has his original type uncovered upholstery buttons made by C&C metal out of New Jersey. I bought buttons from them when I upholstered my 1911. Be warned, their minimum order is 5 gross!
