Rear fender irons

Post by Mel King » Tue Jun 18, 2019 1:38 pm

I started to put my rear fenders on my roadster and it lacked 1/2 inch or more at running board too close.Then I saw a difference in length, one was 10+1/2 the other was 12 from base to flat where the fender bolts on. They have not been bent. I thought they were the same length from 15 -25. :? :? What gives? :o :o :o :o Thanks MEL.

The rear roadster/coupe type irons were different between years. I think without looking the 15-23 were the same and the 24-25 are different. The 23 to 24 change, I do not have my 28 parts book to be exact but think it is correct.
I know the voices aren't real but damn they have some good ideas! :shock:

I think the Touring fender irons are different from the 24-25 Coupe and Roadster. When I got the correct rear fenders for my 24 Coupe I had to get the correct fender irons. It had Touring fenders on it with Touring irons or that’s what I thought.
I don’t have the T parts book but the supposed Touring irons were a different length.

Touring irons are completely different. I checked this site;
http://www.cimorelli.com/mtdl/default.htm
What I can find in the 1925 parts book is that the 1923 (1924?)-1925 coupe and roadster did use a different iron then the earlier models.
