The wife and I will be in Denver, Rapid City, Cody and Yellowstone the end of this month. Are there any good collections of autos particularly T's and early Fords to be seen? Any shows going on?

I visited the Forney collection in Denver about thirty years ago. Google says they are still there. It was an incredible collection. The family had been collecting since the '50s and amassed an impressive collection of both truly original and somewhat restored cars. Lots of horseless carriages, classics, horse drawn carriages, cable cars, trains, and other vehicles. Among their many prizes is one of the several Kissel Gold Bugs claimed to have belonged to Amelia Earhart.
I met one of the Forney family members at an HCCA convention about twenty years ago. Seemed like a very nice fellow.
The collection was well worth a visit.

don't know if you remember the "Big Boy" locomotive at the Forney...UP just restored a Big Boy in Cheyenne, and needed the fold-away front couple that was missing...guess who supplied it? Forney. They got an old UP Diesel Engine in trade for the coupler

I second Wayne’s suggestion of the Forney museum in Denver.

Thank you, thank you for the suggestions. I made it to the auto museum in Murdo SD about 25 years ago. I was able to buy a couple of petrolium signs from them that are hanging in my shop.

If anyone gets to Murdo SD to the museum, I would like photos of the 8in1 Converible Truck Body like mine. Dave Stroud said the only other one he had seen was there. I need photos and measurements of name brass name plate also.

Not sure of your route or when your traveling- but the the Famous I80 Truck stop sports a Trucking Museum and a an unbelievable Truckers shopping mall. Not far fro there where Interstate 80 crosses the Mississippi River is the legendary "American Pickers" Antique Archaeology Store, where they started, in LeClaire Ia. LeClaire is full of antique shops, a very scenic river town. Downstream and on the other side of the river in Moline IL is the World Headquarters of John Deere, several of their manufacturing facilities are in the area as well as. It may be also possible to visit Craig Beek's Model T Museum also in Molline, 27 Brass T's. Problem is that Craig has knee surgery scheduled in a few weeks - but he might let me show you - need to know when you would be the area. Birdhaven/Fun Projects/TexasTee in off I80 in Colfax IA (call them first they may have a new location).

A friend from Kelowna started the Cody Dug Up Gun Museum in downtown Cody Wyoming that is very interesting. I was there in 2013 but do not know if he still has it.

The Executive Director of the Forney Museum, Christof Kheim, grew up in the suburbs of St. Louis (and also in the old car hobby here). In his heart, he's a Studebaker guy, but hey! old cars are old cars. If you see him there, tell him hello from those of us still here.
