I bought the wood, bought the glass and now want to install the very most back glass on my 1926 Tudor improved T. I am not completely sure the woods correct orientation but it seems like the groove for the glass to sit in faces forward but there would be a large gap between the glass and the body. What is used to seal the glass to the body and any pictures of this set up with the wood would be great. thank you
I have the metal corner pieces and the metal frame.

Rubber U channel goes on the glass on most of them. The vendors sell it. Early ‘26 or late ‘27 bodies are slightly different than the rest of production.

Was the original glass and wood still in the car when you acquired it? Maybe use as a guide.

The frame goes in kitset, the grooves in the wood locate around the metal angle frame. With the timber sitting away from the outer sheetmetal.
There are screws that go into the vertical pieces from the angle around the belt line and the lip around the top edge of the body to hold it all in place.

I have found the rubber u section used for the glass is a bit short and does not seal around the opening really nice.

If the window framing kit is what I have, there are 4 pieces of wood. The horizontals are curved slightly differently to match the rear body panel. Have to test each one to see which is top or bottom. The verticals are straightforward ..... or I think they were when I did that job. They go in front of the horizontal boards and are screwed in top and bottom. There were also 11,000 tiny nails around the inside perimeter that fastens the window frame flange to the new wood framing.

The rear glass with the rubber trim fits inside the wooden frame, pushes up against the outside body panel, and, I believe, is held in place with the window trim that is screwed to the new wooden frame. RTV seems to be the suggested sealant that goes between the wood frame and the rear body metal to make that joint weather tight. I think the ends of the rubber trim should end up on top of the window so water leakage is reduced as much as possible. I haven't installed the glass yet because there is still some body work going on but I understand the RTV process will be extremely messy if you haven't spent decades developing RTV handling skills.

Lots of work, lots of fiddling, but when it's all done, you will have forgotten the entire effort and will just enjoy the lovely rear window.

Huge help guys!! Thank you. I'll get the u channel seal and go from there. Also on topic of topic I can't seem to find a hardware kit for the roof wood. Is there such a thing? Or do I need to just screw and bolt it together at will?

unfortunately I ripped it apart a year ago and thought I took pictures.... well I did not.
