1922 or 1923
I have mentioned before that my grandpa was 18 and bought a brand new 1923 Roadster in '23. However, this weekend my cousin gave me three of Grandpa's books and one of them was a 1922 Owner's manual. So, either grandpa forgot what year he bough the car (which is possible since it was nearly 70 years after the fact, but he had a sharp mind.) or they sold him a '22 and titled it as a '23. I suppose that did happen? I've read something about that. Either way, I now need to buy a '22 Roadster to go along with that owner's manual.....

Ford made changes through the year as improvements were needed. They didn't always follow a "year model" like these days. Even cars manufactured in one plant might be different from those in another because they tended to use up parts on hand before using newer parts. The year change between 1922 and 1923 is kind of blurred. In our own club my car is a 1922 but another person has one like it but it is 1923. I also many years ago had a car registered as 1929 Model A but had many features of a 1928. It was first sold in January 1929. You can't always tell by the engine number either because many times an engine has been replaced and the number was changed on the registration to the engine in the car.

Or....... He was sold a 23 model, but He was given a 22 manual? Close enough. The literature could have been lagging.
Were there pictures of grandpa with his T? 22 would have had a straight, vertical windshield. A 23 would have a slanted windshield.
Not to mention the different trunks & top hardware.

The 22 -23 yer bracket also spans the low/high radiator introduction on our Canadian sourced cars.
