Main bearing oil passage location

I have a 26 block that I am about to align bore the mains.
The Babbitt has been poured some time ago, unfortunately I do not the location of the oil hole marked. I would like to drill from the bearing side through to the hole in the upper side of the block.
Does anyone have the position of the oil hole relative to the bolt holes?
This is a modified block, main bearing saddles have been cut down to accept a Chevrolet crankshaft.
Also is there any benefit to enlarging the oil holes?
Dave

Oil splash system retained, Or is there an oil pump modified for the block? ..... "Kerry", from Australia, posted this picture many months ago. Shows oil hole in bearing.

This is the splash line system, no oil pump.
Looks like in the picture you provided, the lube hole is centered to the bolt holes. I take it this is the centre journal?

Use a mirror Or even your finger to find the original oil hole on the upper side.
Making the countersink oil collection hole as large as possible will give you a larger "puddle" supply of oil.

I do mainly Canadian blocks and they do vary in the spot of the oil holes, the front and rear are close to the bolt holes but the centre one could be up the front or the rear or even the two, I checked a 26 USA block that I have on the bench now and it has the centre one towards the front, drill a 1/8" pilot hole when you have worked out the spot and the work your way up with bigger bits to the block size. When it comes time to cut the oil channel swipe, I used to set the block up in a mill, these days I just use a router.

I just reach under and find the hole then drill small pilot hole to start and go from there. Don't forget to add an oil groove along the center line from the hole and oil wells at the edges where the caps and block meet.
