Can anyone tell me definitively if the 1911-12 Kingston 6 Ball carb used a stove/hot air pipe? I can't seem to find much of any information about these carbs.

I am told they are rare. I have two of them that have been rebuilt with new floats, etc.

I was recently looking for the upper casting for a 6 ball
that mounts on the front of the exhaust manifold and was told no one is currently making them. Tubes can be purchased from Mc Master Carr. You might have to machine the ends where they fit into the carb and upper casting. Thats what I did on an 11 Holley.

Thanks, Richard. On the Kingston 6 ball, the inlet does not have clamp like some carbs, just an open throat. Seems like it would need an adapter at that end. That is one of the things I am trying to figure out what was used originally. I will probably just have to fabricate something that works and holds the pipe securely at both ends.

What I can't find out definitively is whether it used a stove at all. However, I believe every other carb for the Model T used a stove so don't know why this Kingston 6 Ball would be any different.

This illustration in the 1911 Ford brochure indicates a hot air pipe. Casting around the front of the exhaust manifold and pipe going down to the intake on the carb.

Thanks, Dan, that answers the question as to whether it used a stove. Now I need to figure out how to make one up. The carb inlet throat is 1 and 3/8". Langs sells a pipe with 1 and 1/8" diameter. I will probably need to fabricate something. I have a casting that clamps to the exhaust manifold like other carbs, but I need to fit the pipe to the exhaust manifold casting (should be relatively easy) but need to figure out how to secure the pipe to the inlet on the carb since there is no counterbore or clamping nut in the carb inlet. Seems like it needs an adapter that is counterbored to fit over the carb inlet that is counterbored for the appropriate sized pipe.

I wish that illustration was clearer so I could see how it fits to the carb inlet.

McMaster Carr sells 1-3/8 od 4130 steel tubes in 1 or 3' lengths, various wall thicknesses.

Not trying to beat out the parts vendors but I have one of those that I'd sell for $50.00 plus shipping. We'd have to compare measurements because I'm not sure exactly which one it is if there's more than one type from 09 to 12.
