Inner Axle Sleeve Orientaion

Confused again. I purchased left and right inner rear Axle sleeves, but they're not oriented like the old sleeves I removed. Both axles have the dimple facing "outward" as they are inserted (ie, closest to the differential), but one sleeve has the dimple on the
inner end. I need to reverse the "arrow" (sleeve opening) to make one fit. Here are a couple photos. The new sleeve is on the right.

I inserted the other sleeve figuring that, as long as that bump aligns with the hole in the axle shaft, it should work. No need to align the grease hole.

Many of the new axle sleeves are made incorrectly. Two things:
1. There are differences between early and late models.
1/2” vs. 3/4” dimple from edge. Many are just fabricated without exact spec in mind… and the dimple is off.
2. Hole position. There are left/rights . Axles turn opposite the bearing.Sometimes the people creating them do not understand hole position with respect to the V groove….
Speak with the part suppliers if the part is not correct. Send a picture and verify with them. They will make it right!
