What's in the "dog house" on the rear of a 20's fuel truck. I picked up a small oval fuel tank several years ago at Hershey with the thought of building a roadster delivery truck.... kind of like the little Ertle models. I know the later ones had a pump with a hose reel in there. Did the early ones have some configuration of that? Hand pump? I've been looking for a picture of one with the doors open, but no luck. It's been hard enough just getting to see a rear shot.

I believe this type of tank body was all gravity operated (no pumps). Thus, there would be 3 hoses and reels, plus shut off valves and dispensing nozzles, One for each hose and tank.

Good Luck

On these photos, those 3 big tanks each have drain cocks on the rear, canisters filled by hanging under the those spigots.

Some of the tanks carried gasoline, oil and kerosene in each compartment.
So likely the canisters, for hand dispensing, were carried there with assorted tools.
