Who can stamp the correct style numbers on a repro 14 body data plate? RV did my 11 Touring for historical purpose only, not for vehicle identification, and I looking for someone to do the same for my 14 Runabout. Art

No answers to the question of someone stamping a data plate so does anyone know where the correct style number stamps are available for the body data plate?

Dataplates4U can, I believe, do it for you. They did mine for my WW2 jeeps.

They do not list Model T data plates and the style of the numbers they show on other Ford Data plates is not close to the correct style.

The number style has been discussed. I copied many engine numbers to arrive at a set to match
New number stamps aren't a good match. size maters as well

I have what appears to be the same font ans size punches as shown above. They are close to those stamped on my 26 not nowhere close to those uaed on my 10 and 12. Ive never found anything close.

The numbers stamped on the block look nothing like data plate numbers. Here are a couple original data plate pictures from posts on this forum. The new tag is the tag RV Anderson stamped for my 11. Art

This older post lists a font type numeral that probably is pretty good match for serial numbers on data patent plates.

Here is the font type “ Plantagenet Cherokee” for numerals that match closely to original data plates.

You could take it to a trophy shop of you want the old fashioned font style.
Ford also use a plain type of font. You can buy a set of 1/8" stamps at Harbor Freight for $8.99

Most original car body plates were brass or aluminium. These are softer and more likely easier to photo etch to "print" the details. It also allows the use of stamps with thicker downstrokes which gives them the old font appearance. Hand stamping numbers rarely have this, especially those used to stamp engine numbers on cast iron. These need a sharp edge to make the impression, not the flat bases as on the ID plates.

I just received my rebuilt engine with a replacement block. I had to change the cast block serial number to match my old block and title. I purchased these stamps which appear to be the correct style snd size.

Data plate number stamping ended in the mid 1910s. Block stamping and data plate stamping during the years when both were done was different due to the need for cast iron blocks to be cut by sharp fonts. Data plates using thinner and softer materials could use a more blunt font.
Over the years of production, several minor variations of fonts were used.
