Well, I really like them all! Thank your for posting these!
To keep this model T related? These are the sort of automobiles, both racing and road use cars, that many people building their model T speedsters dreamed of their creation being like. People then, like people today, often had big dreams, and limited means. So with some creative thinking and a lot of real effort, they would build their dream the best way they could. Smart people could accept the reality of their Ford, and truly enjoy the fun of driving it, living the dream.

A couple of these cars, including photo number two, may actually be only slightly modified from a standard factory model. Photo number eleven is likely a standard factory offering by Mercer in the late 1910s. With some minor changes from year to year, that model was known as the Raceabout, a continuation of the earlier Raceabouts Mercer is better known for. This style began about 1916, and continued through at least 1922.

I will need to spend some time looking at all of these. Some may be factory special builds, a few actual custom builds for big money. All are very interesting. Many of them will be difficult to identify what marque automobile they began as.

I too enjoy seeing the non Fords. Even at the peak, Fords were never more than half of the cars on the road and its important to see what else was around at the time.

No problem with showing non-Ford Speedsters. This set has some beautiful looking Speedsters, that might inspire someone to work on a Model T Speedster!.

Number 9 looks a lot like this 1912 Cadillac that is owned by one of this forum's members.

The third photo down is of a National automobile. Very distinctive radiator style.
