Almost every one of these 15 'facts' is dead wrong.
From https://madmikesamerica.com/2014/03/15- ... d-model-t/
This is number 1... Anyone care to comment on the rest?
1. The Model T had no transmission, as we know it. There was a gearbox, but it only offered one speed. You would push the shift forward to take the vehicle out of neutral and engage the drive train. To go in reverse, you would depress a pedal on the floor.
Sad!

Re: Almost every one of these 15 'facts' is dead wrong.
My cars are all missing this;
13.All Model Ts were built with a permanently affixed jack stand on the rear axle. This would allow the owner to remove the rear wheel and place a flat belt on the hub. The car could then be used to power farm equipment. This was factory standard on all Model Ts, right up to the 15 millionth produced in 1927.
14.When only two roads existed in the entire state of Kansas – one going North to South, and one going East to West – two Model Ts crashed at the only intersection. Both drivers walked away, unscathed.
Are you OK Steve? Hope you didn't hurt the car or Dean in that one.

Give an old car guy a barn and he won't throw anything away.

#9 is dead wrong. Henry Ford was not a racist, and he was known for paying black employees at the same rate as whites. He was an anti-Semite though.

Maybe it was intended as satire? Anyway, I couldn't resist leaving a comment.

Re: Almost every one of these 15 'facts' is dead wrong.
I really like the signature quote my long-time friend Dan Haynes has sometimes used on posts on this forum.
"The greatest enemy of knowledge is not ignorance; it is the illusion of knowledge."
One of the best "ultimate truths" in twenty words or less that I have ever read.
Whether the subject of this thread is an attempt at satire, or something truly believed? It is the essence of "illusion of knowledge".
Quite sad.

15) is the only one that is 100% true.
"Still many on the road today"
Model Ts didn't have key switch...30mph top speed, but the "speedster" could do 40mph !! So much misinformation.
I don't believe it was intended as satire.

I think the guy thinks he ‘knows’ about Model T’s but in reality he really doesn’t. When he says they didn’t have a key switch I think he referring to a key switch that you insert a key, turn the switch and the car starts. Of course they had a switch you just directly start the car with it. Maybe half satire and maybe not. Maybe a self appointed expert who really isn’t!

John, if you catch your mistake in time you can click on the little pencil image above your post and edit. I don't know how long it is before the pencil disappears and you're stuck with what you wrote.

Rather than leaving a reply in regards to "your wrong" I took a different approach as to "if you want to post facts you need a source to document" as I am positive this person will do similar "articles" on lots of other topics he has not researched.

Here's the rest of the story.

I haven't had time to read more of his stuff yet, but I'm betting it's all pretty much the same.
Who is this guy anyway?

From reading the comments above, I'm not even gonna click the link and read it. I've got more important things to do with my time!
