I have a 25 Touring with a 26-27 engine. The engine has no serial number so I assume it is a replacement engine. The head has no markings and the block just has a casting #. Can the casting # tell me anything about the date it was cast?
The # is “16-G-D” Any help appreciated.

It would be just a mold number to they could track back to that mold if there was a problem. Replacement blocks with no serial number would have been sold as a bare block, the buyer would have stamped the old original number from the block they were replacing after the engine was installed. Could have been made anywhere from 1926 to when last T engine/block was sold around 1941ish.
